 The NGNG Tournament of Champions will be held in Gin Joint #3 each month.

Well, we have something up our A1 sleeves just for you!!!

 RED  'N  BLACK  Gin

...a combination of No Knock and Straight Gin – where the type of hand played is determined by the dealer of the hand.
Y
You will play one game to 100 points.

 If the first card thrown by the dealer is  RED , then it is a
 NO KNOCK 
hand.  You must gin to win the hand.

If the first card thrown by the dealer is  BLACK , then it is a 
 STRAIGHT GIN 
game with knocking allowed.

 Both players must acknowledge the type of hand being played right after the first card is thrown.

Starting Tuesday, August 2nd, at 9:00 PM in Gin Joint #2, we will be running RED & BLACK trnys and keeping track of your points...just like Gin Genius and No Knock trnys each month!

PLEASE NOTE: WINNERS, as well as RUNNERS-UP, need to submit their email addresses to A1 TRNY Rusty@AOL.com as soon as they win so she can send them an INVITATION to the Monthly Tournament of Champions.  This tournament is called the No Guts, No Glory Tournament, and is also affectionately known as the "NGNG".  If you do not send Rusty your email address, you may miss out on some of the fun of "BEING A WINNER"!!!  PLEASE DON'T FORGET!!!

Explanation of the POINTS SYSTEM

for our Points Trnys

Gin Genius, No Knock, and Red & Black trnys are each a monthly series of single elimination tournaments. You may play in one or all tournaments during the month. Player points accumulate during the month. At the end of the month, the player with the highest point total is declared the "Gin Genius",  "No Knock", or Red & Black champ for the month. Points do not carry forward from one month to the next and are reset to zero at the beginning of each month.

Points are calculated based upon each round won, ten points times the round number. These are added together for the night and accumulated during the month.

The following is an example of a five round tournament:

Win RD 1, receive 10 pts (10 x 1)
Win RD 2, receive 20 pts (10 x 2)
Win RD 3, receive 30 pts (10 x 3)
Win RD 4, receive 40 pts (10 x 4)
Win RD 5 (Finals), receive 50 pts (10 x 5)
Runner Up RD 5 (Finals), receive 25 pts as a bonus for making it to the finals (half of what winner receives)

The winner of the above example receives 150 points for winning all 5 rounds (10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 50 = 150).

The runner up of the above example receives 125 points ( 10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 25 = 125).

If the trny has less than 5 rounds (16 or less players) then the points are less.

The winner then receives 100 points for winning all 4 rounds (10 + 20 + 30 + 40 = 100).

The runner up of the above example receives 80 points ( 10 + 20 + 30 + 20 = 80).
